Now its a great way to lose all your quotes. Deleted from my phone.

This used to be one of my favorite apps. I have depended on it; stored my own quotes, plus the quotes of others in this app for years. Now, none of the quotes show up on my iPhone. The ones on my iPad seem to be there, but all my tags are gone, and every time I try to share or export a quote the app crashes. I am running iOS 8. Its been out for a while, and all of my other app developers have made the necessary adjustments.

Enough said. Avoid this piece of untrustworthy junk.

This is a good idea, but poor product. It doesnt sync across iPhone and iPad. Have sent numerous emails asking for assistance and developers do NOT respond.

Solid premise. Dangerous implementation. Lack of care, lack of attention to detail, absolutely baffling.

The latest update deleted all my quotes. Apparently this has happened in previous updates too. I trusted theyd get that fixed, but no. All quotes (and backups!) are gone. If youre going to put out an update just to pimp your new app, you should make sure you get the data migration right. Unbelievable.

Man I love this app so much and Im glad its back. Thank you thank you thank you. Nothing like it out there.

Why there is a lot of quotes gone !! The last update is baad and most of the authors and tags gone !!!!! Bad bad bad

This last update deleted everything. Hope this can be fixed or Ill be using another app.

Nice app, used to be good. Since the latest update, its unreliable. Developer does not respond, which is inexcusable, even if he doesnt have answers. Especially annoying since the only purpose to the update seems to have been to promote another app.

This is an app I use daily. It used to be very good, my favorite app for capturing and saving quotes. It now is not. The app is arbitrarily deleting quotes and/or authors names for no rhyme or reason. I want my data back!!! Plus the developer is unresponsive to emails; what is going on? How can "good" turn into "crap?"

Be wary of this app. When I first downloaded it I saw that some people lost their quotes but I figured the developers learned and it wouldnt happen again. Well after a few months of using this I lost all my quotes. Then after reaching out to the developers and seeing others reach out they wouldnt respond. All this from an update that seemed to just advertise their new app....which if everyones experience was like mine with Quotebook then it would probably be better for them to remove the ad. Dont waste money on this. Great idea, but the developers just dont seem to care about it

ALL MY QUOTES ARE GONE!!! Beware: if you get this app in its current dysfunctional state, you will need to email yourself backups of your quote library REGULARLY, or you will indeed lose all of your quotes. ---OLD REVIEW: Update: Okay my quotes are all back. I dont know if this is what did it, but I went into the gear icon, then scrolled down and clicked on "Feedback - Emil Support" I wrote them an email, telling them all my quotes were gone, and immediately after I sent the email, all my quotes were back! -------PREVIOUS REVIEW: WARNING: All of my quotes are GONE!! Last time I had an issue, it DUPLICATED all of my quotes. I had to manually delete the duplicates, and all was fine for over a month now. Until tonight, I open it, and its completely EMPTY!! WTH?!? Several years ago I had a dream of building the best quote app: one where I could store my entire library of quotes in an app on my phone+iPad that would allow me to search my entire quote library by Author, tag, or keyword, and one where it would automatically let me enter new quotes from my clipboard. Im not kidding. But I had no programming experience, nor the desire to learn, so I went without. Until I discovered this app a few days ago, that is! I read the reviews, and one of them said you cannot search by keyword, which I was shocked by, so I emailed the developers and asked them if non tag keyword searching is possible, and they replied within a few hours and said yes it is! So I went ahead and purchased the app, and they were correct!! (The other reviewer needs to update his review). Love it!!

This was once one of my favorite and most used apps. There is no other app in existence like this and I relied on it heavily as a library of quotes I collected. Unfortunately, the app developer(s) doesnt seem to care about this amazing app, dont update appropriately and are unresponsive to messages. As a result, when I upgraded to iOS 9, I lost every single one of my quotes. Even the iCloud backups have vanished. There are valuable quotes I will never be able to recover. I wish they would just sell this app to someone who could treat it as the gem of an app it is. Terribly disappointed!

This has been my go-to app. As someone in the academic world, I value a user-friendly, reliable, cloud-based storage for quotes. Since updating, I have lost all of my quotes on iPad and many of my authors on iPhone. The devices are not syncing. The support team is unresponsive. At this point, I would say to wait before downloading this app until reviews come in more positively. A good team would not only provide support, but would have been testing this during the iOS 9 beta process.

I learned the first time this app dumped all my quotes and have been periodically emailing them to myself, so I havent lost much this time, but I cannot give more than one star to any app that cannot do the one thing it is supposed to.

I love Quotebook. One of the joys of the iOS ecosystem is discovering those little gems of apps that do one thing so well that you wonder how you ever lived without it. Quotes could, of course, be left on a Notes page, or in SimpleNote, or any of several dozen other text-based apps. But the devs of Quotebook loved the idea of keeping specifically quotations around that they devoted time and energy to thinking about what fellow quote-gatherers might want. And the result exceeds anything else you could potentially use to store quotes because it doesn’t try to also be a shopping-list manager/sketch pad/pdf reader/whatever. It’s there for your quotes. I don’t know what the other reviewers are talking about; my quotes came through just fine with the most recent update to iOS 9. I suspect many people either did not have iCloud syncing actually turned on in Quotebook’s settings, or possibly they were upgrading from the older Documents & Data format in iOS 7 all the way to iOS 9’s iCloud Drive(?) Whichever, the switchover worked seamlessly for me — and I even switched phones, too. Lickability’s got a winner with this one.

I have to echo many of the other reviews here. Marvelous potential but no movement at all, or improvement, over a long period of time. I have not so far experienced the data loss others have, knock on wood, but iCloud sync is nonexistent. I have two wholly different sets of data on my pad vs my phone. Just as though iCloud was turned off. Sad, but of course I keep hoping one day things will just work.

A year later, Quotebook is one of my favorite apps. Its not that app you open everyday, but if you start keeping those quotes that made an impact on you it starts adding value to your life. As a guy that always looks for sources of inspiration, Quotebook is one of those apps that make me think and reflect on quotes that changed my life.
